Boys’ Gymnastics Falls to Andover

The following information was provided by the boys’ gymnastics team.

The Braintree High School boys’ gymnastics team competed in their first regular season meet last week suffering a loss to the defending State Champion Andover Warriors 160 – 128.

Senior Co-Captain Stephen Madden received a high score on the vault with an 8.0 and Senior Co-Captain Nick D’Amico earned a 6.0 on pommel horse.

Coach Rich Ellis was pleased with all the Wamp performances. This was the first competition for seven of the gymnasts: Greg Ford, Anthony Lau, Tyler DaRosa, Halmon Lui, Jiaxi Su, Eamonn Doyne, and Mun Chet.

“These guys are very brave to join a sport they are not familiar with and compete against such high level athletes,” said Coach Ellis.

Veterans Quan Bui, Akira Watanabe, Evan Abreu, and Howie Ngyuen competed very well for their first meet.

The Wamps will host Burlington High School Tuesday and travel to Attleboro on the 24th.
